The Matthew Schady (Tschudy) House (Christian Tschudy, Matthew’s father) The Congregational Store

1764 – John C. Fenstermacher moved the store into this house. It had been operated across the street by Andrew Horn. John died in 1767.

1767 – Jasper Payne, an Englishman, returned to Lititz to once again take over the store for the congregation. Jasper died in 1779.

Matthew Tschudy was born in 1771 and died in 1852. His parents were Christian and Eva Barbara (Kiesel) Tschudy. Christian was born in 1741 and died in 1772.
