Bequests and Other Donations

Honor Books and Memorial Books

A special book plaque will be placed inside the cover of a book selected for our collection as a tribute to a special occasion or memorial recognition.  Gift A Book brochures, providing details for giving honor and memorial books, are available at the circulation desk or can be printed from this link. Once filled out, brochures should be given to the circulation desk staff. Donors are asked not to provide books to be added to the collection.  Library staff will select and purchase appropriate titles to be designated as honor or memorial books.

Art Work and Furniture

Works of art or furniture donated to the Library will be accepted and exhibited with appropriate attribution for up to one month in a setting selected by the Director.  Following that period of time, the item will become part of a rotating collection displayed throughout the Library or will be sold to benefit the Library.  The Director will make these discretionary decisions.

Garden/Landscape

The Internal Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees will accept monetary donations to augment the outdoor accoutrements of the Library.  The Internal Affairs Committee reserves the right to select the type and style of the items purchased.  Memorial plaques will be affixed to projects that are in excess of $500.  Donations of lesser amounts will be added to the building and grounds fund to support general maintenance of the garden.  The Internal Committee further reserves the right to move, replace or relocate items as required or necessary.  Indoor plants will be accommodated at the Director’s discretion.

Periodical Subscriptions

Periodical subscriptions may be accepted in the best interest of the collection, provided they meet standards of selection and are approved by the Director.  The Director reserves the right to display or discard unsolicited subscriptions at their discretion.
