We are excited to announce a new StoryWalk® at the Lititz Public Library! Thank you to Warwick Township for approving and installing permanent StoryWalk® fixtures. The StoryWalk® begins Kissel Hill Rd and Sixth Street and moves to the right along the sidewalk around the library property.
A StoryWalk® combines two healthy activities, taking a walk and reading a book. It is a self-directed activity for people of all ages which encourages participants to read a children’s picture book in stages while walking along a short path. Participants are encouraged to complete a simple activity at each page. StoryWalks® promote literacy, physical activity, parental involvement, and ties to the community.
This spring, families can enjoy the story The Mixed-Up Truck by Stephen Savage. It is Cement Mixer’s first day on the job, and he doesn’t want to make any mistakes. How can he help the other trucks on the construction site? Participate in the StoryWalk® to find out.
