What’s the best way to prepare a child for the new school year? A library card gives students access to eBooks, online homework help and more tools that help them succeed. It’s easy to sign up for a library membership card at the Lititz Public Library.

When visiting the library to sign up for a library card, youths aged five through thirteen should be accompanied by a parent or guardian who can present photo identification and proof of Lancaster County residence. Youths fourteen through eighteen may register without a parent or guardian if they present their personal photo identification from a Lancaster County school district or a valid driver’s license with proof of Lancaster County residence.

POWER Library
Access a portal to thousands of full text periodical articles, newspapers, a major encyclopedia, photographs, maps and reference materials for students of all ages.

BrainFuse’s HelpNow
Connect with a live tutor to get real-time K-12 homework assistance and help with college-level math, science, social studies or English questions.

Pronunciator
An online language-learning system builds conversational skills for sixty of the world’s most popular languages using a suite of interactive online drills, scored quizzes, downloadable audio lessons and phrasebooks.

TumbleBooks
A fun and interactive library of animated, talking story books for preschoolers, beginner readers and older independent readers allows children to read-along and listen or read on their own. Learning Express Library
Online resources help students prepare for important tests, find extra help with assignments and boost skills in math and reading comprehension.

Learning Activity Sets
Borrow games that teach early learning concepts and language skills. Titles include Body Parts, Count on Me, Letters Aa to Zz, Patterns, Shape Land and more. Each educational game kit includes a children’s book, fabric game mat, die and movers.

OverDrive
Borrow and enjoy free eBooks and audiobooks from the library’s digital collection. The OverDrive app is compatible with a wide variety of tablets, phones and computers.

Paws to READ
Check the library’s calendar of events for Paws to READ where children can practice their reading-aloud skills by sharing favorite stories with specially trained, reading-therapy dogs.

Family Storytime
Families with children of all ages and abilities are invited to enjoy stories, songs, crafts and more fun activities together. Family Storytime is held monthly on a Saturday morning. Books related to the theme are available for families to borrow after the program.
