Library Services and Safety

Dear patron,

Providing a safe and welcoming space is fundamental for the Lititz Public Library. As we navigate this emerging issue, we are regularly monitoring announcements from health officials and experts for guidance. Library leadership is engaged in ongoing discussions of plans, issues, questions and implications which may potentially arise. While we are currently open and operating on normal schedules, we are taking additional steps beyond regular practices in order to maintain services to our community. Here are some of the actions we are taking…

Library event changes

We will be using all recommendations from local officials and health experts to guide us in our decisions regarding changes to library events. This may involve limiting or cancelling attendance of scheduled programs. Changes will be made to our online calendar at https://lititzlibrary.org/events/. You may also contact us by phone at (717) 626-2255 before leaving for an event.

Library cleaning

We also continue to follow best hygiene practices for workplaces – including regularly cleaning and disinfecting surfaces and equipment in our buildings, making hand sanitizer available to staff and patrons, and encouraging frequent hand-washing.

Lititz Public Library does not currently disinfect borrowed materials when they are checked in or as they are browsed or used in-house. Disinfecting these types of items and materials is currently not recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Coronavirus information

We encourage you to monitor reliable sources on COVID-19 including:
