What we offer:
The focus of our collection is the history of the Lititz area and local families, but we also have histories from adjoining counties and other parts of the state. These include Lancaster County histories by Ellis and Evans, Beers, Mombert, and Klein.
We have county maps showing the property owners in the 19th century and biographical sketches in the county histories. We have a nearly complete collection of the journals of the Lancaster County Historical Society, spanning more than 80 years, and an extensive collection of other local journals, including “Pennsylvania Mennonite Heritage”, “Journal of the Historical Society of Cocalico Valley”, and the “Pennsylvania Folklife Society” publications.
There are nearly-completed records of the cemeteries in the original Warwick Township and many church and ministerial records from the area. There are also Moravian graveyard records of related congregations.
The separate family history books include those focused on the surnames Bachman, Brubacher, Doster, Fiddler, Forney, Herr, Hershey, Kulp, Landis, Longnecker, Wanner, Yeagley and Zartman. We are hoping to receive donations of other family genealogies to enlarge our collection.
